An Alpena lady is facing a lengthy jail sentence for physically assaulting her biological son.
Sixty-one–year–old JoAnn Massengill–King has been convicted to 10 to 20 years behind bars, later pleading guilty to two counts of criminal physical conduct.
Throughout the trial, Massengill’s now 17-year-old son witnessed being inappropriately touched and forced to engage in physical activities for as long as he could memorize.
Court papers reveal the boy was taken from the Massengill’s home when he was six-years-old after saying a teacher what was going on at the house. He was next adopted by a family downstate, whose last name he’s taken on to disassociate himself from his parents.
So far, Massengill–King has given more than 400 days behind bars. Her ex-husband, Walter Massengill, is currently serving a life sentence, also for physically assaulting their son.
