An Alabama girl last observed getting into a Mercedes SUV Tuesday morning has been discovered safe, the Pelham Police Department said, and detectives are seeking a warrant for the detention of a 24-year-old suspect for interference with arrest.
Amberley Flores, 13, “willingly got into” the Mercedes near Green Park South Mobile Homes in Pelham, cops said.
The teen was allegedly discovered in the Huntsville area and was checked out at a north Alabama hospital, police told, “and she is doing okay.”
Rodrigo Ortega is the suspect in the girl’s missing, they said, and “he will be taken back to face charges as soon as possible.”
Cops also said they plan to engage with Amberley after she is rejoined with her family.
Late Wednesday, the department uploaded photographs of a dark-colored Mercedes SUV stating that they say Amberly “willingly got into.” Detectives wish to pry the license number off CCTV footage.
