In the comics, Shang-Chi was the son of Fu Manchu but later fought his father’s ways.
He is referred to as the “Master of Kung Fu”, he is skilled in many unarmed and weaponry-based wushu techniques, involving the use of the gun, nunchaku, and Jian. In later years, he gets the power to create many duplicates of himself and joins the Avengers.
It’s hard to say if Shang-Chi will be better or not with such few information known. Still, it will surely be interesting to see how director Destin Daniel Cretton and his team launch the MCU’s latest hero.
Plot details have been held tightly under wraps as Marvel instead focuses on promoting its 2020 films like Black Widow and Eternals. There is a chance more information could appear soon once production commences.
