NASA’s radars have found the asteroid flying towards us this week on a “nearby methodology” direction. The US space agency gauges the space rock matches 656ft (200m) over, making it an essential item.
Authoritatively named Asteroid 2015 BK509, the space rock will move toward Earth on Saturday, February 29.
During the methodology, BK509 will be flying our way at paces of about 12.49km every second or 27,939mph (44,964kmh).
In light of present conditions, the space rock will surround Earth 12.29 am GMT on Saturday (7.29 pm EST on Friday).
The methodology is being followed by NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) in Pasadena, California.
