The third movie in the hugely popular series was assumed to come out in this year 2020 as one of the first movies of Marvel’s Phase 4. Some behind-the-scenes drama involving the firing and rehiring of writer-director James Gunn has led to some significant setbacks. Luckily, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige did settle at Comic-Con that they’re working on Guardians 3, even if it is not one of the five films registered for Phase 4.
Epic Phase 4 of the announcement at Comic-Con got confirmed Phase 4 movies through to the end of 2021, so it looks like be getting Guardians of the Galaxy 3 in 2022. The movie Following Black Panther 2 being dated for May 6, 2022, that leaves potential release dates for the threequel of February 18, 2022, and July 29, 2022. The July date is more likely since the previous films have been July and May releases.
In the aftermath of Avengers Endgame, a lot has changed for the Guardians. In particular, Gamora plays the role of Zoe Saldana is also alive again in the MCU, only it is a Gamora from a past timeline in 2014, meaning she does not have the history with the Guardians.
Star-Lord/Peter Quill plays the role of Chris Pratt, Drax plays the role of Dave Bautista, Mantis plays the role Pom Klementieff and Groot plays the role of voiced by Vin Diesel are all back and in one piece after the snap, rejoining Rocket with the voice of Bradley Cooper and the motion capture talents of Sean Gunn and Nebula plays the role of Karen Gillan.
The artist Gunn said that the film will serve as the epic conclusion to the story he began in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and dismissed any suggestions or claims from other nations at Marvel that the film might be set before Infinity War. He said that the movie will bring to an end the current emphasis of the team, adding Who knows who will take up the mantle after that. The artist Gunn had promised that the endings and new beginnings for Guardians 3 which was basically set up the future of the MCU studio, but with the delays, maybe that is not the case anymore.
