As we know that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) had announced that it would send its astronauts on Moon in 2023, the tests and preparations of the same are already in motion.
The Orion spacecraft will be responsible to carry the astronauts around the Moon. It had already completed its environmental test and now waiting for NASA’s space launch system to get ready.
Juno spacecraft would be ready to be handed over to NASA by June if we look out at the efficiency of the spacecraft and the clearing of various tests effectively. It could be then made ready by fulling the fuel tank. Even before the launch of the space system, it is expected that the Orion spacecraft would be ready to launch the Artemis 1.
The Donal Trump administration had ordered the NASA that the astronauts should be on the Moon’s surface by 2024 in its Artemis 3 mission. This means that the test launch of the Orion spacecraft should be done in 2021 with the launch of the Artemis 1 mission and then the astronauts should be around the Moon in Artemis 2 mission by 2023.
However, for future missions after Artemis no environmental testing of the spacecraft would be done. It would be straightaway made ready for launch.
