NASA To Launch Six Tiny Satellites As Telescopes For Next Sun Mission

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is all set to carry out Sun Radio Interferometer Space Experiment (SunRISE) mission.

In this mission, the agency is planning to send the world’s largest radio telescope into the space to keep an eye on the Sun. As per the reports, the mission would be carried forward not before than June 2023.

Through this mission, the planetary experts and scientists aim to understand the complex relationship between the Sun’s activities and all other natural phenomena that took place in the Universe. Together, these factors and unusual activities are known as space weather.

Over the years, scientists and researchers have constantly observed Sun flinging its energy and materials toward Earth’s outburst and have noticed many different impacts it has on communication satellites and navigation instruments.

As per the reports, the estimated budget for this SUNrise has been kept as $63 million. The scientists and technicians involved in this mission really want this mission to be a success as it would help them know about several unusual activities that took place in the universe.

The six small size satellites will expand out across about 6 miles (10 kilometers) and will orbit around the Earth at an altitude of 22,000 miles (35,000 km). It will keep SunRISE above the ionosphere. This layer blocks all kinds of radio waves of the relative frequencies from entering into Earth.
