Young rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine made headlines when he was arrested with some severe charges pressed against him. However, it seems like we have some latest updates on his release date from prison. Let us look into the details.
Is Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Finally Coming Out From His Prison Time A Bit Earlier?
Apparently, it seems like the rapper will be out of prison sooner than expected. He will be released on 2nd August after serving only eight of his 24-month sentences. After many confrontations, the rapper finally went on a deal with federal prosecutors in Manhattan. Then the rapper finally admitted to various crimes, including racketeering, conspiracy, weapons possession, drug trafficking, and other severe crimes as well back when he was arrested.
The whole fiasco goes back when the rapper was sentenced back in December 2019. He was accused of crimes related to his time as a Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods member, originally facing a total of 47 years to life. However, the rapper whose real name is Hernandez earned some leniency in his sentencing because of his testimony against other members of the New York street gang.
What Led To This Sudden Early Release From Prison?
The rapper also began cooperating with prosecutors after he and several other Nine Trey members were arrested back in Nov. 2018. Thus, pleading guilty of severe crimes like federal racketeering and firearms offenses as well.
The whole decision depends on Judge Paul Engelmayer and when he agrees to his legal team’s request, which at this point seems all but certain. The rapper 6ix9ine will be placed on home confinement until his release date. We are not sure whether this has anything to do with Coronavirus creating havoc on the prison system! This might be a fair chance for the lawyer to get an early release for Tekashi.
