On the surface, Doctor Strange 2 immediately canceled the minute Benedict Cumberbatch disappeared in a garbage can during the shocking Infinity War closing ceremony.
But as expected, Doctor Strange has returned to Avengers: Endgame to return to Wong again to defend the universe, and Doctor Strange 2 has been confirmed as part of Comic-Con Phase 4 with a serious trippy title.
For now, suppose the sequel remains on the May 7, 2021 release date, making it the fourth Phase 4 movie.
However, with Derrickson’s departure, it is unclear whether this will result in delays.
Cumberbatch co-founder Benedict Wong previously said he believes the film will be released in 2020, and, according to the variety, the project is expected to start production again in May 2020.
Who will be in the cast?
So far, only one Benedict has confirmed the continuation (Cumberbatch, of course), but we will be surprised if Benedict Wong had not returned, especially while talking about the recording.
In the most interesting announcement at Comic-Con, Elizabeth Olsen will appear in the film as Scarlet Witch, part of the direct links of the sequel to Disney + WandaVision.
This is what we know of the confirmed cast, but Chiwetel Ejiofor would be expected to appear, although Mordo is not the film’s main competitor.
Is there a trailer?
If filming takes place in May 2020, we may see our first trailer for the sequel until the end of the year.
There is the possibility of a video excerpt in Comic-Con 2020.
