Back in the previous year, Netflix released the musical drama series Soundtrack. It was first supposed to release on Fox, but later, Netflix acquired the rights for it. Now after the first season, everyone is thinking if Soundtrack is renewed or canceled for the second season. Here’s what you should know about Soundtrack:
What’s The Renewal Status Of Soundtrack Season 2?
Just after around one month of the release of the first season, Netflix revealed the fate of the musical drama series. Here’s bad news for everyone, the series is canceled for the second season by the streaming giant. In January 2020, Netflix dismissed the series just after one season.
What’s The Reason For Cancelation Of Soundtrack Season 2?
The streaming giant canceled Soundtrack just after the first season because the series did not gain positive reviews from the critics and audiences and also it wasn’t able to attack enough audiences for the renewal. Usually, Netflix analyzes the ratings and popularity of the show and then give the green light to the new episodes.
That’s the reason for the cancelation of Soundtrack for season 2. Netflix also canceled many shows like Aj and the Queen, another french series Marianne, Spinning Out, Osmosis, Insatiable, Mortel, etc.
Creator On Soundtrack Season 2
The creator of the series Josh Safran earlier said that he planned about the second season, but now we know that it will not happen because of its poor ratings and performance.
After the show got canceled, Safran said in a statement on Twitter: ‘our team served tirelessly on it and felt we’d made something different, fresh, weird, and, well, great. And yet, it all but vanished. Hardly even got reviewed. I feel like it never came out. I believe you get to see it someday.’
The musical drama series soundtrack debuted on Netflix on December 18, 2019. It features stars like Paul James, Callie Hernandez, Jenna Dewan, Madeleine Stowe, Jahmil French, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Isaiah Givens, Megan Ferguson, and Campbell Scott. Here’s the trailer of Soundtrack:
As per Deadline, the synopsis of the series is: ‘Soundtrack takes a look at the love stories joining a diverse, diverse group of people in contemporary Los Angeles through the music that resides inside their hearts and minds.’
