The sneak-peek came to us last year when Disney+ was revealing their program for the year 2020. This was the time when they first showed the world that they are all set to present a new version of the Muppet show. Apart from a few basic details, not much has been revealed about the series. There is a lot of planning which was to be done back then and anyway basic details were sufficient to last year.
As per the press release of Disney+, it is clear that the series will have six episodes. The series will be produced by Muppet Studios. So if we quote the press release verbatim, we can ascertain the nature of the new series. The press release said, “In the six-episode season, Scooter rushes to make his delivery deadlines and upload the brand-new Muppet series for streaming.
They are due now, and he’ll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions, and complications the rest of the Muppet gang throws at him”. This time the producers have added a lot of elements to spice up the new series. So if you were waiting for all the crazy stuff coupled with the topsy turvy world of a muppet, you are going to get a hell lot more.
If we see other OTT platforms, Disney+ is relatively new, and they have to establish themselves amid the tough competition from the peers. The series is expected to bring more audience to the platform. Of late Disney+ is reviving old series and launching new ones to cater to a large pool of audience. This is the reason why Disney+ has launched a new series and renewed others in recent times.
The pandemic of COVID-19 has forced all of us to stay at our homes. This is the time when we don’t have much to do as we are at our homes. In this period, there has been a sudden spike in the watch hours of all the OTTs platforms. And Disney+ is trying hard to augment its audience pool. So they are overtly invested in introducing new series and movies.
