Hellboy is a film series that involves three films. Back in 2004, the first film released in the theaters, and in 2018 the sequel released. Then in the previous year, the reboot film of Hellboy released in the theaters. It received criticism from the critics, and also audiences did not like the film. The effort of rebooting the Hellboy franchise was failed. Fans were thinking why the original star Ron Perlman, who played the titular role in the two films, not return for the reboot film. So here’s everything which you should know about it:
Ron Perlman Refused To Appear In 2019 Hellboy
The project was first supposed to be the sequel of the Hellboy II: The Golden Army, also Ron Perlman was appointed to play the role of Hellboy. Perlman is a very talented actor who is well known for correctly performing the character of the devil. He is still considered as the best Hellboy in comparison to David Harbour, who played a part in the third part.
Why Ron Perlman Refused To Play Hellboy?
Star Ron Perlman decided to leave the project because of the original director named Guillermo del Toro as he was not appointed as the director of 2019 Hellboy. The original director was not given the complete role of writer-director. That’s the reason the idea of the third part scrapped after Periman decided to leave the project and it becomes a reboot of the franchise.
After that, the reboot film announced as R-rated and Neil Marshall appointed as the director and David Harbour cast as Hellboy. But the reboot idea proved wrong after it was failed at the box office and even not able to impress the fans.
Will We Get A Sequel Of 2019 Hellboy?
There are very few possibilities for the reboot of Hellboy to get a sequel. The film did not run successfully in the theaters and was a complete failure. Even the main lead star David Harbour also said that there’s not much light for a second film to happen anytime soon. He also claimed that the box office failure of the film is the main reason that we will not get a sequel of Hellboy
