Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a very successful animated film that grossed nearly $375 million globally and received multiple awards. It is still the initial animated flick in the Spiderman franchise, and now its sequel is on the way that is confirmed by Sony.
The production house didn’t take much time announced plans for the second film after the massive success of the original flick. It will be penned and directed by both Joaquim Dos Santos and David Callaham. So below is everything which you should know about it, so keep reading:
So the good news is Sony has started the work on the production of the second film of the animated film of Spiderman. It began this month, and the news is revealed by a lead animator called Nick Kondo by sharing a post on his Twitter account. Have a look at his post:

Unfortunately, the sequel film had to face delay due to the coronavirus outbreak. Earlier it was set to release in the cinemas on April 2022 and now shifted to another date. Upcoming flicks like Spiderman 3, Thor 4, and etc are delayed. But dont worry, Sony has also revealed a new release date for the sequel of Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse.
So, Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse 2 is scheduled to arrive in the theaters on October 7, 2022.
The complete casting details are not still revealed for it. We will see these stars lending their voices to the characters who will feature in the sequel film:

- Brian Tyree Henry as Miles’s dad
- Kathryn Hahn as Doc Ock
- Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen
- Chris Pine as Peter Parker / Spider-Man:
- Luna Lauren Velez as Rio Morales
In the second part, the story will again center on Miles Morales’s Spiderman, and reportedly, we can see a jump in time. A new Spiderman can appear in the sequel. Takuya Yamashiro, the lead of the series of Japanese Spiderman, can appear in the second flick.
