Rumors had been spreading from the past few weeks that Tom Ellis is leaving the sixth installment of the show. This left the fans sad as they were expecting him to be in the sixth outing. The British actor Tom Ellis played the role of Lucifer Morningstar in the American series Lucifer. Tom will be seen in the fifth installment of Lucifer playing his character after he was forced back to hell.

However, following rumors spread like fire that this Tom is leaving Lucifer after the fifth season following the talks between Warner Bros TV and Netflix. It was being shared by the fans on social media that Ellis’ contract negotiations have ended earlier this year.

People started guessing and making noise that the Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder would be replacing Tom Ellis for the role. Fans were disappointed when Somerhalder’s series V-wars was canceled with the streaming giant Netflix.

However, all the rumors about Tom leaving the series were wrong as Tom is returning for season 6 of the Lucifer. This is good news for Tom’s fans. He has reportedly closed the deal for the season six contract, and so he is coming back for it. Co- showrunner Ildy Modrovich has laughed off the rumors spreading about Tom Ellis’ goodbye to the series on Twitter.

Earlier it was speculated that the fifth part of Lucifer would be the final installment. Still, the series has already been renewed for the sixth part by the makers before the premiere date of the fifth installment. Season 5 of the series will premiere on Netflix on August 21 this year, and it will have a total of 16 episodes.
