Then, the fans are eagerly waiting for a second film or spinoff, but we don’t get it, and also no announcement was made. New Constantine Film In The Works
So the sources recently revealed that Warner Bros. is developing a new live-action film of Constantine. The discussions of the sequel appear back in 2011, the director of the original movie named Francis Lawrence said that he was interested in making a sequel and regret that the first film was PG-13, so he wanted that the sequel to be R-Rated. After that, there was no update appeared on the new movie of Constantine.
Then the character appeared in TV series and animated films. But now recently it is revealed that J.J. Abrams is the producer of the new flick.
It is not revealed if it will be a reboot film or a direct sequel. But it will be going to very much different from the original movie as it will be a very darker version. The news was shared by The Direct, and they don’t reveal about the casting and release date.
Back in the previous year, the star of the original film Keanu Reeves who plays the role of detective Constantine is interested in reprising his role, but he is not confirmed to play the role. For now, there are very fewer details for the new live-action film of Constantine.
The first live-action film of Constantine released in the theaters back in 2005. Francis Lawrence is the director, and Kevin Brodbin, and Frank Cappello wrote the screenplay. The film was inspired by the DC Comics character John Constantine who also knows magic.
In the film, Constantine appeared as an exorcist who supports a policewoman explain her sister’s death was not a suicide. The film was very much successful at the box office but received mixed reviews.
