Marvel Studios came up with the superhero film Black Panther back in 2018. It is the first MCU movie with a predominantly black cast. The movie received appreciation from the critics for the cast performances, story, direction, and more. Black Panther won multiple awards, including three Academy Awards. After its huge success, a sequel was announced soon.
Back in the previous year, Kevin Fiege declared that Black Panther 2 is in the works at Marvel Studios. The original director Ryan Coogler is returning for the sequel with the original cast members that includes Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, and Letitia Wright. Fans are wondering what will happen in the sequel film, so keep reading:
In the original film, we saw how T’Challa became the king of Wakanda. The film also revealed much about the hidden and advanced Wakanda. It starts after his father died in the explosion in Captain America Civil War. In Black Panther film, T’Challa become the king after he proved himself at the coronation ceremony. But later, Killmonger challenged him, and then, in the end, T’Challa killed him in the final battle. Wakanda is now not hidden from the real world, as T’Challa decided to reveal the kingdom’s identity in the end.
There are fewer details on the story of Black Panther 2 as writers are working on the script. In the sequel, we can see other nations attacking Wakanda to get the vibranium and technologies. Coogler earlier said that he wanted to see T’Challa growing up as a king in future movies. Also, Kevin Feige claimed there are plenty of stories to tell about Black Panther.
Black Panther 2 is in the early stage of development as the writers are working on the script of the film. Reportedly it will be the part of MCU phase five, which is supposed to begin from 2022. The shooting will also begin late for the sequel of Black Panther as per the sources.
There is no update if the second movie will face a delay due to coronavirus pandemic as Marvel already postponed many projects. Upcoming films like Black Widow, Thor Love And Thunder, Shang Chi, etc are also facing delay. Luckily the film has received a release date that was announced on D23 Expo, so it will release on May 6, 2022.
