This year, BBC and HBO came up with the comedy-drama series titled I May Destroy You. It is created by Michaela Coel who also directed the series with Sam Miller. Also, the series cast Coel, Weruche Opia, and Paapa Essiedu in the main lead roles. It tells the story of a young woman who wanted to start a new life after she was physically abused.
The series now finished airing episodes on BBC One and the fans are asking if they will get the second season or not. So below are the possibilities for the new season of the series:
So BBC One not renewed the series for a second season till now. It will be very early for the network to declare a new season as the first season just finished airing episodes on 14 July 2020. Also, there are still some episodes left to air on HBO. But we can expect the second season to happen in the future as the critics appreciated it for the story, acting, and direction.
Also, the ratings of the series is very high and audiences loving it very much. So we have to wait for the confirmation from BBC One.
We cannot tell the specific date of the second season of I May Destroy You as it not renewed by BBC One. If season 2 happens then it will take a long time to happen because of coronavirus pandemic. Many networks and streaming giants halted production on many projects for the safety of cast and crew members.
If I May Destroy You season 2 happens then the filming will begin late. As per the sources, we have to wait for it till late 2021 or early 2022. If BBC One and HBO will declare anything about the new season, we will notify you.
If the second season of I May Destroy You happens then we can expect these stars to return for it: Michaela Coel as Arabella Essiedu, Paapa Essiedu as Kwame, and Weruche Opia as Terry Pratchard. We are not sure about the return of other stars. Unfortunately, there are no plot details for it.
