Netflix’s Avatar The Last Airbender: Project Confirmed, Details Here

Netflix has been developing some classic stories over time and reviving them into series and films for the fans. These projects are a product of several collaborations and team up with other people.

Netflix’s Avatar The Last Airbender: We Have Some Major Updates! Have a Look.

However, there has been some ongoing tension in the ongoing The Last Airbender project. Apparently, creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are not continuing their work on the live-action series of The Last Airbender with Netflix. Take a look at this lengthy Instagram post which pretty much explains the whole fiasco.

Netflix’s Avatar The Last Airbender: Two Leading Figures Have Quit The Project!

While the exact reason for the discontinuation has not been cited yet, Michael Dante DiMartino has penned down a lengthy post saying that the version that will be launched onscreen will not be the one that the two writers envisioned. The reason for the sudden quit has been explained as creative differences with the streaming giant.

The two writers went on to explain that when Netflix hired them back in 2018, it was in the position of hired as executive producers and showrunners. However, it seems like things did not go exactly as planned. While he said that he can not control the creative direction of the series, he thought leaving the project behind will the best decision.

Well, friends… there you have it. Big sigh. 💔⬇️💔 I’m sure many of you will understandably want to know more and will ask me questions in the comments, here and on subsequent posts and live-streams and in-person encounters and everywhere else ad infinitum. I wish I could explain things in greater detail, but the above statement is really all I can say about the matter so I won’t be answering any of those. I encourage you to head over to my partner Michael DiMartino’s account to get his take on our departure too: @mike_dante_d Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the Avatar: The Last Airbender fans, and I’m sorry our involvement in the live-action project did not work out. Time to get on with my life. Onward and upward. 💙 Love, Bryan #avatarthelastairbender #cocreators #michaeldimatino #bryankonietzko #bryke #atla #liveactionseries #netflix

The Initial Creators Are Not Working On Netflix’s Avatar The Last Airbender!

With the original team dropping out of the project, the streaming giant may include someone else into it and that might result in a change of the allover vision of the show. While the creators have expressed their disagreement over social media, it seems like the partnership is not happening with Netflix on this series. We wonder what the streaming giant’s big next step would be about the whole project. Expect a new creator being on board soon enough and continue the series of The Last Airbender.
