The “Joker” protagonist Joaquin Phoenix is, according to sources, in a series of talks for a couple of Joker’s sequels. It is being reported that the star actor has been offered a substantial amount in his return.
Joaquin is reportedly in talks.
As per Mirror UK, Joaquin is reportedly in talks for a couple of Joker movies. It further said that the producers are trying to finalize Phoenix for both of the next two installments, and that is why they have decided to reportedly roll out an offer in the hopes that Phoenix shouldn’t refuse to. Another source confirmed the news outlet about the sum that the producers have decided to offer to Phoenix: A massive $50 million to appear in both the sequels.
Phoenix himself is equally enthusiastic about donning
The insider also divulged that not only the makers but even Phoenix himself are equally enthusiastic about donning that iconic smile for another time(or times, as time will eventually tell).
In the words of the source: At the very onset, Joaquin was of the mindset that the Joker was just one of the many one-time movies. However, he has now taken an utterly different track as of now. He now avers that, despite the controversies that cropped up and fulminated with the release of last year, he still wants to play the same character again.
The insider went on to say further that although the script work is underway and is anything but finalized, talks have already begun, and things are gradually starting to take shape; and that Joaquin “is pretty much engaged in it.” The grapevine shared some information about the time span.
They stated that the two sequels had been planned by the production house to be made within the next four to five years. The grapevine reported that: They have plans to make both of the sequels within the span of the next four years, along with a commitment(presumably long-term) with Phoenix and Todd Phillips( director of “Joker”) and Bradley Cooper (the producer). It is all somehow managing to get Phoenix to simply accept all the terms – and along with that, the heftiest paycheck of his entire career so far.
