Sean Baker’s Anora, a drama about a Brooklyn sex worker who marries the son of a Russian oligarch, has won the Palme d’Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Baker accepted the award and dedicated it to sex workers worldwide.

Anora stars Mikey Madison in the title role. The film was shot in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Distribution is via Neon, which has handled Baker’s previous films.
