Universal Pictures has officially confirmed that The Odyssey will be Christopher Nolan’s next film, with Matt Damon attached to star. The film will be shot on IMAX with new technology specifically developed for the production.

The Cast

Reports name Matt Damon (Odysseus), Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal among confirmed castings.

The Scale

Nolan is reportedly planning the largest film of his career. Production is set to span multiple countries and use practical effects for the mythological sequences.

Release

Universal has slotted The Odyssey for July 17, 2026 — a marquee summer date.
