Heeramandi Review — Bhansali at His Most Bhansali

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has never met a frame he couldn’t dress. His Netflix debut Heeramandi is a 16-episode opera set in pre-Partition Lahore, and like all his work, it overwhelms before it persuades.

Manisha Koirala anchors as Mallikajaan; Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sharmin Segal orbit her like planets. The production design is staggering.
