The Digital Wise is a growing newsroom built by people who genuinely love movies, web series, and sport. We cover the stories our readers care about with speed, accuracy, and a point of view, and we are always looking for talented people who can help us do it better. If you want to write about the films, shows, and games you cannot stop thinking about, you may be a good fit.
The people we hire
We are an entertainment and sports publication first, so subject-matter passion is non-negotiable. The roles we recruit for most often include:
- News reporters who can turn around accurate, well-sourced stories on releases, casting, box office, and breaking sports news under deadline pressure.
- Critics and reviewers with a distinctive voice and the judgement to assess films and series fairly and persuasively.
- Sports writers who know cricket, football, the NBA, or Formula 1 deeply and can explain the action to a broad audience.
- Editors and producers who care about clean copy, strong headlines, and getting the facts right.
Above all, we value curiosity, reliability, and a commitment to honest, independent journalism.
Freelance and staff roles
We hire in two ways. Staff positions are for people who want to be part of the core team and shape our coverage day to day. Freelance and contributor arrangements suit writers who want to file regularly on a flexible basis or who specialise in a particular niche. Many of our long-term staff started as freelancers, so a contributor relationship can be a genuine path to a permanent role.
How to apply
To apply for a staff or freelance role, email careers@thedigitalwise.com with a short introduction, your CV or resume, and two or three published clips or writing samples that show your range. If you are a critic, send work that demonstrates your voice; if you are a reporter, send pieces that show your sourcing and speed. Please tell us which areas you want to cover and whether you are looking for staff or freelance work.
If you are primarily interested in contributing articles rather than joining the team, start with our Write For Us page, which explains our contributor programme and pitch guidelines in detail. We read every application and will be in touch if there is a fit. Thank you for your interest in The Digital Wise.
